Scholarships
Financial aid is provided to the graduate and post graduate students of S.L. Bawa DAV College, Batala in the form of special academic prize that is based on student’s academic performance. The college also has the facility to give fee concession with merit and need based scholarship. Scholarships are also provided by various government schemes and non government agencies.

Merit and need based Scholarships are given by the college. The Student Welfare Committee holds interviews for the same. The college also has the facility to give fee concession based on annual income, family background, fatherless Child etc.

J & K Cell deals with Implementation of Prime Ministers Special Scholarship Scheme to J&K Students to pursue undergraduate studies outside the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The J & K cell is responsible for proper implementation of the scheme to fulfill the objectives of Prime Ministers Special Scholarship Scheme to J&K Students.
Roles & Responsibilities
An expert Group was constituted by Prime Minister on 18th August, 2010 in the context of enhancing employment opportunities among youths of Jammu & Kashmir and to formulate job plan involving public and private sectors. Every year fresh scholarships were given to J&K Students to pursue undergraduate studies outside the State of Jammu and Kashmir for improving their skills by providing access to education. Scheme was started in 2011 and modified from time to time to make the Scheme student friendly. Main objectives of the Scheme are as under: –
- Evolving guidelines for proper implementation of the scheme to fulfill the objectives.
- To Conduct Awareness Workshops about the Scheme.
- To Conduct Counseling for admission of candidates to different programs/courses.
- Disbursal of Scholarship for the eligible Candidates.
- Redressal of Grievances of PMSSS Candidates.

1.) SCHEME OF POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SCHEDULED CASTES
Object
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled Caste students studying at post matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.

3.) GUIDELINE FOR POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR MINORITY COMMUNITIES
Name of the Scheme:- Post matric scholarship scheme for minority communities
Objective of the scheme in brief:
The objective of the scheme is to award scholarship to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists,Jains and Parsis) so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employ ability.
Eligibility criteria/who can apply:
Scholarship is awarded to the students who are studying in Govt., or private schools, colleges, universities etc. and who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination. The annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2 lacs. The student should be resident of Punjab State and regular in attendance. Scholarship will not be given to more than two students in a family.
