Youth Welfare and Cultural Activities
Department of Youth Welfare and Cultural Activities provide a platform to the students to present and to groom their talents and leadership qualities. It also plays a significant role in preserving and promoting rich cultural heritage of Punjab among the Youth. The Youth Welfare Department of the college is making tremendous progress in the field of extra-curricular activities. The department aims at providing students with cultural environment so as to shape their personality and develop their physical, mental, social, aesthetical and spiritual dimension & cultivate human qualities like integrity, honesty and tolerance.
The college organizes various inter-college and intra-college activities under the aegis of various departments, societies and clubs. The students are motivated to participate in various contests organized inside and outside the college. For all round personality development and for the exposure of the talent, the youth welfare department in collaboration with Directorate of youth services, Punjab and Guru Nanak Dev University organises hiking, trekking, educational tours, youth leadership camps and many more competitions.
During the session 2014-2015, the students of this college made a remarkable performance in the field of cultural activities. The college Gidda team bagged the third position in “Zonal Youth Festival” at G.N.D.U. Mr. Jaskarandeep Singh won second prize in Classical instrumental(Non-percunion), Mr. Manpreet Singh won third prize in Musical Vocal and Miss Shinam won third prize in Geet Ghazal.
